Mary, Mother of Jesus

1st century BC – AD, Nazareth → Jerusalem

Young woman of Nazareth, betrothed to Joseph. Said yes to Gabriel. Bore Jesus in Bethlehem. Stood at the foot of the cross. Pondered these things in her heart.

Galilean Jewish woman of the 1st century. The Magnificat is hers — neither sentimental nor porcelain. The text says she pondered; speak that way.
